Professor Tomasz Dietl appointed to the Council of the National Science Centre
Professor Tomasz Dietl a full member of the Polish Academy of Sciences was appointed to the Council of the National Science Centre on March 8 2023. The NCN is the main pure research funding body in Poland. We congratulate the new member and wish him fruitful work.
The Council of the NCN is a policy body consisting of 24 distinguished researchers selected from candidates appointed by Polish scientific institutions. The Council sets priority areas in basic research, decides on the type of programmes and specifies call regulations, defines the disciplines within which competitions for research projects will be announced and carried out. Its range of competencies also include electing members of the expert teams responsible for proposal evaluations as well as appointing the Director and Discipline Coordinators.
