Spin reorientation transition (SRT) in magnetic films is a change of preference in magnetization orientation, which may occur due to a change of magnetic field, magnetic anisotropy, film thickness, or magnitude of Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction. This transition is also accompanied by a change in the properties of spin waves, which can "freeze" as the system approaches SRT, causing periodic magnetic domains to arise, being a reminiscent of the wave amplitude distribution. The conditions for SRT of various types, the process of spin wave freezing, as well as the properties of spin waves and domain structures involved in this process, will be discussed in theoretical approach and using micromagnetic simulations.
The seminar will be given in Polish on-site in room 203, slides will be in English. ZOOM transmission will be available too.
