GENERAL INFORMATION

The 9^th Workshop of Vietnamese Researchers in Poland (WVRP2024) will be held on November 15-16, 2024 in Krakow, Poland in a hybrid form (onsite and online). WVRP2024 is jointly organized by Vietnam Association of Science and Technology in Poland, Department of Robotics and Mechatronics (AGH University of Krakow), Institute of Physics (Polish Academy of Science in Warsaw), Institute of Biotechnology and Food Technology (Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam), and Foundation for Supporting Integration of Vietnamese in Poland.

Workshop of Vietnamese Researchers in Poland has been organized every year since 2016. It is a forum for students, PhD students, and young scientists (Vietnamese, Polish, and international) to show their activities in the course of their studies and to present their obtained results in the scientific research. The scientific program of WVRP2024 will cover all domains of natural sciences, social sciences, engineering and technology (biology and medicine, physics and mathematics, information technology, humanities, materials science, life science, and others).

The participants of WVRP2024 will also have an opportunity to attend special lectures on the newest achievements in science and technology presented by the invited lecturers. WVRP2024 will also be the opportunity for exchanging information and initiating collaborations. Thus, students, PhD students, and young scientists, not only in Poland but also from other countries, especially from Vietnam, are welcome to participate and give their contribution to WVRP2024. The program of WVRP2024 is based on plenary lectures (40 min.), invited talks (25 min.), contributed talks (15 min.), and the poster session.

To encourage participation, no fee is required for all workshop participants.

English is the official language of the workshop.
The workshop will be on the hybrid event platform.

The programs and abstracts for WVRP2024 will be published as a book with ISBN 978-83-68219-08-1 (print version) and ISBN 978-83-68219-09-8 (online version). Each participant will receive a printed copy.

Electronic properties of the epitaxial thin films of a kagome ferromagnet Fe3Sn2

Quantum materials with a kagome lattice structure are a promising platform for condensed matter research due to their peculiar topological, electronic, and magnetic properties. Fe3Sn2 is an intermetallic compound where kagome layers of Fe3Sn and 2D honeycomb Sn layers (stanene) are stacked on top of each other in the layered fashion. The experimental electronic structure studies of the bulk single crystals of Fe3Sn2 revealed existence of massive Dirac fermions [1] and not obvious signatures of the flat bands [2]. During the talk, I will present the results of our investigations of the electronic band structure of the thin films of Fe3Sn2. The films were grown by molecular beam epitaxy on Pt(111) and characterized using a multi-technique approach, including x-ray photoemission spectroscopy (XPS), x-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and conversion electron Mössbauer spectroscopy (CEMS). The electronic band structure was measured using angle-resolved photoemission (ARPES) at the Phelix end station of the Solaris synchrotron in Krakow. I will present

Unveils the mechanical stimuli by mechanoluminescence: From designing of experimental setups to material analysis.

This study provides a comprehensive analysis of mechanoluminescence (ML) and associated phenomena, ultrasonic-induced luminescence (Us-L). The research begins with the designing of various experimental techniques and setups to study ML and Us-L under diverse mechanical stimuli. The first two setups are directly related to ML analysis, namely Impact-induced ML and Stress-induced ML setups. The third setup focus on the study of Us-L at 20 kHz, utilizing an ultrasonic probe sonicator and a photomultiplier to capture Us-L emissions. The results obtained from multiple measurements of commercially available phosphor materials, includes Sr0.95Ca0.05(SO4):Mn, CaAl2O4:Eu,Dy,La and SrAl2O4:Eu,Dy validate the excellent performance of these setups in various categories of ML studies. In the second part of the study, the mechanoluminescence and ultrasonic-induced luminescence properties of LiTaO3:Pr materials are discussed in detail.
