CD XFEL

Mission and Rules of Operation

The Network of Excellence XFEL Centers (CD XFEL) was established to provide substantive and organizational support to the Polish scientific community in utilizing the European XFEL as a priority research instrument essential for innovative scientific research.

CD XFEL’s activities are carried out under the grant from the Ministry of Education and Science based on agreement No. 2022/WK/13 for the project titled “Support for Polish Users of EuXFEL – Supervision II (2022-26)” awarded on December 22, 2022, under the program “Support for the Participation of Polish Scientific Teams in International Research Infrastructure Projects.”

The network consists of unique research laboratories operating in four scientific institutions: the Institute of Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw (“IF PAN”), the University of Warsaw (“UW”) , Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (“UAM”), and the National Centre for Nuclear Research (“NCBJ”). These centers bring together scientists with extensive experience in XFEL research, whose knowledge and commitment support new Polish users of this infrastructure. For the project’s implementation, CD XFEL also provides its research infrastructure, including equipment purchased with funds from the MNiSW grant.
