Topological phases and metal-organic kagome systems

After a short introduction to topological phases we present the recently synthesized metal-organic monolayers TM3C6O6 on noble metal surfaces where TM is a transition metal. They build a kagome lattice of magnetic ions. The prospective to observe the quantum anomalous Hall effect in this material class is discussed.
