Research Interests:

 

Experimental Solid State Physics:

Optical linear and nonlinear properties of transition metal and rare earth ions in crystals and glasses. Optical and transport properties of semiconductors. Properties of solid state laser materials. Spectral and spatial energy transfer of the excitation energy in solid state. Exciton dynamics in crystals. Optical properties of low-dimentional semiconductor structures and thin films. Photorefractive materials. High pressure spectroscopy of solids.

 

Research Experience:

 

Experience in operation of continuous wave and pulsed lasers with associated electronics including YAG:Nd high-energy lasers, nitrogen-pumped dye lasers, argon ion pumped jet and ring dye lasers. Experience with various detection and analysis electronics systems like boxcar averagers, lock-in amplifiers, optical multichannel analyser etc. Experience in operating of cryogenic equipment. Experience in basic absorption and fluorescence measurements, cw and pulsed four-wave mixing technique, Hall effect, thermally stimulated current and capacitance, diamond-anvil cells, and also some technological experience with chemical and thermal treatment of samples. Experience in use of high-magnetic field equipment and use of superconducting magnets. Experience in using diamond-anvil cells.
