Scope
The idea of this Polish-German conference on various aspects of modern optics, reaching from the spectroscopy of atoms to molecular clusters, solid and liquid systems to photosynthetic centers, quantum optics and environmental applications was born to encourage students and young scientists from both countries to meet and learn together about one of the most exciting areas of modern science, thereby establishing the basis of new friendships. It should also stimulate collaboration and exchange between the universities and research institutions of both countries.
This will be the third time we will meet discussing different areas of optics. In particular we will focus this time on the impact of laser physics and spectroscopy on various aspects of environmental research. Each day will be devoted to one topic and longer tutorial lectures will be given by outstanding specialists of the field, accompanied by extensive discussions. The lectures will start from basic level and lead to the frontiers of science. In addition also posters from the participants will be presented and discussed.
Venue
The conference will take place on the peninsula Hel in Jurata near Gdansk in Poland.
All participants will be housed in the WZW Jantar (hotel Delfin). This will allow for intensive communication and discussions during breaks and free time.
One excursion is planned to medieval castle of Teutonic monks in Malbork.
The conference will start with supper 17 September (Sunday ca 19h) and reception at 20h. and will finish with breakfast 23 September (Saturday).
